is it just me or did everyone who went to high school/college between the late 00s and early 2010s drive or have at least one friend who drove a used car with a tape deck and no way to plug in an iphone/mp3 except one of those tape to headphone jack converters. like the fake tapes that you’d plug into your headphone jack.
#or those bluetooth fm transmitters that were shit where the audio would cut out or other random audio would cut in like every 2-3 minutes#the ones that plugged into the cigarette lighter#my first car was a 2002 sebring convertible. it was a nightmare death trap with 273827382 problems which were a constant source of stress.#but sometimes i miss her and her bad but nostalgic tape quality stereo#and her loud ass heavy bass vroom vroom engine. but most of all her uncanny ability to take stupidly fast and sharp turns for some reason.#my 2014 altima couldn’t even IMAGINE#anyway it turns out combining covid brain with edibles and antidepressants does something to a person. why am i even thinking about this.#there is something bizarre and nostalgic about defunct technological relics from your lifetime#that are reflective of very specific points in time. idk.

really thinking about getting an mp3 player and canceling spotify. like i spend so much money on cds/having a music library that isnt getting used. and one less thing ill have to pay for each month. im mostly paying convenience but if i get a lil bluetooth mp3 player

well im driving a new car now.. it's nice and im excited but i did cry saying goodbye to janet (my first car) after id cleaned her all out and moved all my stuff to the new one
#at least shes not gone forever shes parked at my parents place#but she was a good dog i mean car#odometer when i parked was 262860 and honestly she was running just fine except for that spare tire#toyotas are so <3#we do have to replace the rotors and stereo but even that on top of what we paid isnt close to what the dealers were asking for similar cars#wild how both cars ive had were bought from personal sellers specifically someones spouse trying to get rid of a car they no longer need#first one her husband died second one his wife was upgrading to a minivan#anyway. i finally have a hatchback!!#i can put the seats down and sleep in it if i need to!!!

i fucking LOVE music in the car i love it and as happy as i am to live in a walkable city and have easy affordable public transportation options i miss listening to music in the car every single fucking day because it just hits so, so, differently.
